coderman: this company is using landmark based positioning (kind of like landmark routing) to identify your location based on beacons from AP's nearby
coderman: they are probably just selling access to customers to the AP database, but if they try and patent the navigation/location by 802.11 wireless landmarks i've got prior art from '02
coderman: this works really well in densely populated wireless locations (cities, tech meca's) but very poorly when you've got a sparse wireless deployment, like rural areas / many parts of suburbia
