Oliver: Rogers and other US providers don't do IMEI blacklisting? now theres a forign concept...
Mutiny: IMEI blacklisting would probably cut into their profit margins too.
Mutiny: Plus I could imagine it's a big management headache
Mutiny: Exboyfriends blacklisting the IMEI of former girlriends phones, etc.

seti: FWIW Dutch police will only trace IMEIs in abduction cases, not in "normal" theft cases, and have resorted to SMS bombs to stolen phones because telcos wouldn't act by blocking them.
