lllllllll: In order to address ongoing workforce shortages throughout South Carolina, Governor Henry McMaster today directed the S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) to terminate South Carolina’s participation in all federal, pandemic-related unemployment benefit programs, effective June 30, 2021.

lllllllll: The governor signed an executive order Tuesday evening seeking to prevent local governments and schools from requiring masks. The order said parents had to be given the option to opt out of mask requirements in schools and that the Department of Health and Environmental Control would create an "opt out" form for schools to distribute to parents.
lllllllll: "Rather than wage a debate over constitutionality that would pit elected officials, students, and families against one another, Superintendent Spearman has, effective immediately, rescinded the state face covering policy with the exception of the school bus requirement that is now required by the federal government."
